Lewis MacDougall Biography

Lewis John Moir MacDougall (born 5 June 2002) is a Scottish actor, who made his film debut in Pan (2015). He subsequently appeared in A Monster Calls (2016), and will star in the forthcoming road trip drama film Boundaries (2017).

Early life

MacDougall was brought up in Kingsknowe, Edinburgh, Scotland. His father is a retired banker. His mother died in 2013, shortly before filming of A Monster Calls, from multiple sclerosis. Before his first film he had acted only in small parts at his local drama group, The Drama Studio, which specialised in improvised rather than scripted performances.

He attended an open audition for the film Pan, in Morningside and although he didn't get the role of Peter, he was offered the role of Nibs.

Career

MacDougall made his film debut in Pan directed by Joe Wright. The film was released on 9 October 2015. MacDougall next appeared in A Monster Calls opposite Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson, which will be released on 23 December 2016. He will then co-star in the road trip drama Boundaries, opposite Vera Farmiga and Christopher Plummer, set for release in 2017.

On 6 October 2016 MacDougal attended the gala screening for A Monster Calls, at the BFI London Film Festival where he was interviewed about his role. On 12 December he appeared on BBC's The One Show, alongside cp-star Liam Neeson, where he also talked about the film.

Personal life

McDougal enjoys playing football with friends and on his Xbox. He has recently taken up golf.
