Kym Perfetto Biography

Kym Perfetto is an American fitness expert, trainer, competitive cyclist, model, dancer, actress, stuntwoman and musician based in New York City.

Fitness and Acting Career

Perfetto grew up in Columbia, Maryland but moved to New York in the mid 2000s with aspirations of becoming a performer. Not wanting to work as a waitress, she took a job at a gym instead. Immersing herself into fitness culture, she became an instructor/trainer and has since become one of the top trainers in America. Her students have included Lady Gaga, Madonna, Kelly Ripa, Charlize Theron, Jake Gyllenhaal, Colin Farrell, and Anderson Cooper. She has appeared in her role as a fitness expert on the reality TV show Made in which she helps a teenager named Tyler achieve her goal of losing weight and being a healthy high school senior.

A former bike messenger, she incorporates cycling into her workouts and developed a class for Soul Cycle which was voted best fitness class by New York Magazine's Best of New York 2010.

Her experience as a bike messenger also landed her the role of Polo in the 2012 action film Premium Rush, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, about a bike messenger who is chased around New York City by a man who wants an envelope the messenger has. She also served as Dania Ramirez's stunt double in the film. Other acting roles have included episodes of The Wire, and Homicide: Life on the Street as well as the films Everything's Wonderful, The Job, Shot in the Heart and Cupid & Cate.

Music career

In 2010 she teamed up with fellow bike messenger Andrew Toews aka DJ FakeMoney to form the electro pop Dance band No way Josie. The duo independently released a 7-track eponymous EP in 2011, which logged over 120,000 downloads in its first month. They have also recorded a full-length LP Freakness which they plan to release in 2013. Her musical influences are an eclectic array of artists including Madonna, Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Iron & Wine, Joseph King, and Zed. No Way Josie's music has been likened to Calvin Harris, Azealia Banks and Selena Gomez. No Way Josie has become one of the top dance bands in New York City and performed at SXSW in 2013.
