Jason Mitchell

Jason Mitchell Biography

Jason Mitchell (born January 5, 1987) is an American actor. He is known for portraying Eazy-E in the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton.

Career

Mitchell had roles in the films Contraband and Broken City, both of which starred Mark Wahlberg. In 2015, Mitchell played Compton rapper Eazy-E in the biopic Straight Outta Compton, with his performance being met with significant praise by critics. In 2016, he appeared in Keanu, which starred Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, and in 2017 starred as a Vietnam War officer in the monster movie, Kong: Skull Island.

Controversy

Mitchell was detained, handcuffed and arrested by police before being offloaded from a Delta Airlines flight after becoming violent and verbally abusive towards staff and passengers. Mitchell had missed his original flight (booked in First Class) and was consequently then placed on standby for a later flight in Economy (Delta Comfort+), which he boarded, though seemingly not having properly understood the fact that his seat on the rebooked standby flight was no longer in the same class of travel as his original, missed flight. Delta Airlines has since issued a public statement advising it has declined to press charges, but explaining that the incident was nonetheless of no fault whatsoever of the airline.
