Jami Deadly

Jami Deadly Biography

Jami Deadly (born May 18, 1979) (also credited as Jami Edwards) is an American-born actress, glamour model, singer, burlesque dancer and horror host. Jami grew up in Texas where she starred in the NTTV show Deadly Cinema, and has been featured in Lowrider, Rue Morgue, Skin Two, Marquis, Deadbeat Magazine, Ol' Skool Rodz, Bite Me, CK Deluxe, Action Magazine, and Bachelor Pad Magazine. She currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Deadly Cinema

Jami hosted her own horror host show, Deadly Cinema, for two seasons on NTTV. The show followed her adventures in an unknown cemetery, and featured public domain b-movies which the show's main characters would heckle. Jami's co-stars included Alex Fuhrmann, Dante Martinez, Zack Beseda and Bryan Kelly. Writer, director, producer, editor and actor for the show, Matthew Muhl, once stated about making the show: "We made it, blood, sweat, tears, and all. But mostly blood". The show is currently broadcast on Roku, and the DVD of the complete series is also available.

In 2005, Deadly Cinema won a Texas Intercollegiate Press Association Award for "Best Television Production".

In 2006, Deadly Cinema and its star were both prominently featured in Vampira: The Movie, a documentary about the late Maila Nurmi, best known as Vampira, the very first horror host.

In 2008, a comic book adaptation of Deadly Cinema: The Movie, written by Matthew Muhl with art by Scott D.M. Simmons, was produced in celebration of the show's 5th Anniversary.

In 2013, Deadly Cinema premiered a collection of videos on YouTube featuring never-before-seen cast interviews in celebration of the show's 10th anniversary.

As Marilyn Monroe

Jami is also a well-known Marilyn Monroe tribute artist. She found Monroe at an early age with Some Like It Hot. "I thought she was just incredible. She was so glamorous and talented. I was hooked," Jami says about the late actress. Jami appeared as Monroe for the State Fair of Texas in 2006. Jami's transformation into Marilyn was not an easy one. A coach helped her coax her Texas twang into Marilyn's breathiness, and she's taken singing and dancing lessons to perfect Marilyn's routines. In addition, her blond hair requires weekly peroxide applications. Jami continues to work as a tribute artist.

Modeling career

Jami is also well known for her modeling career. She has modeled for Poison Candy, Versatile Fashions, and various other clothing companies. Jami has been photographed by companies such as 666 Photography and Varga Photography, who shot the cover for her Bachelor Pad Magazine cover. She was also a SuicideGirls model. She is a popular burlesque performer who has opened for Dita Von Teese. Jami is also one of the originators of the "neo-pinup" model. In September 2005, Jami was awarded Scream Queen of the month by screamqueen.com.
