CBS announced on Thursday that it has ordered an eighth installment of Big Brother, the long-running reality series that has been a key part of the network's summer programming since it premiered in July 2000.

Showtime cable channel, whose previous forays into reality television have included last fall's Freshman Diaries and the adult entertainment industry centered Family Business, has announced that it has ordered a pilot for Make It Cool, a new Queer Eye For The Straight Guy-like reality series in which a group of "hip African-Americans" will help horrifically "uncool" people of all races overcome their "uncoolness."
CBS OKs 'Big Brother 4' for Summer 2003

Variety reports that CBS has greenlighted Big Brother 4 for this summer. In addition, executive producers Arnold Shapiro and Allison Grodner were given two-year contracts to oversee the production of both BB4 and Big Brother 5 -- although the network has not yet greenlighted the latter show.
