Authorities in California said a 9-year-old boy evaded serious injury when a strong gust of wind carried him away inside a bounce house and onto a highway.

The Victor Valley Sheriff's Station in San Bernardino County said the boy was inside the bounce house Saturday afternoon when it was swept out of the Adelanto home's yard by a strong gust of wind.

The wind carried the bounce house onto Highway 395, where the child rolled out of the inflatable structure and the bounce house struck a vehicle.

The boy was treated for minor injuries and the driver of the vehicle was "shook up" but uninjured, the sheriff's station said.
