The Voice eliminated a whopping seven artists and determined its Top 13 artists for Season 17 during Tuesday night's one-hour results show on NBC.

The 13 artists who survived elimination during Tuesday night's one-hour broadcast will advance to The Voice's live shows next week on NBC.

Of the Top 20 artists that performed on Monday night, the top two votegetters on each team automatically advanced to the next round on Tuesday night's results show.

The eight artists who received the most home viewer votes and won automatic spots in the Top 13 were Kat Hammock, an 18-year-old from Encinitas, CA, and Ricky Duran, a 29-year-old from Austin, TX, from Blake Shelton's team; Rose Short, a 34-year-old from Killeen, TX, and Joana Martinez, a 15-year-old from Miami, FL, from Gwen Stefani's team; Max Boyle, a 23-year-old from Toledo, OH, and Jake Hoot, a 31-year-old from Cookeville, TN, from Kelly Clarkson's team; and Katie Kadan, a 38-year-old from Chicago, IL, and Marybeth Byrd, an 18-year-old from Armorel, AR, from John Legend's team.

The Voice coaches Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and John Legend were then each asked to basically pick a favorite and save one artist out of the remaining three members on his or her team.

Blake chose to save Cali Wilson, a 28-year-old from Salem, IA; Gwen went with her heart and opted to save Myracle Holloway, a 44-year-old from Los Angeles, CA; Kelly chose to advance Shane Q, a 29-year-old from Sacramento, CA, because she called him a chameleon; and John selected Will Breman, a 25-year-old from Santa Barbara, CA, because of the charisma and electricity he brings to the stage each time he performs.

In a Voice first, one of the two remaining artists from each team subsequently received the chance to perform live and compete for a new "Wild Card" spot in the competition.

The person from each team chosen to sing was based on which artist had received more home-viewer votes during Monday night's two-hour performance.

Representing "Team Blake," Gracee Shriver, a 16-year-old from Owasso, OK, was able to sing for the "Instant Save" as one of the Wild Card picks, which ultimately eliminated Ricky Braddy, a 36-year-old from Nashville, TN, from the competition.

On behalf of "Team Gwen," America preferred Jake Haldenvang, a 24-year-old from Charlotte, NC. As a result, Kyndal Inskeep, a 22-year-old from Nashville, TN, was ousted from Season 17 of The Voice.

The Wild Card pick for "Team Kelly" was Hello Sunday, a duo of 14 year olds -- Chelsea Glover and Myla Finks -- from Atlanta, GA. Damali, a 16-year-old from Norwalk, CA, was therefore sent packing.

And "Team Legend" artist Alex Guthrie, a 25-year-old from Marietta, GA, got to sing for the "Instant Save," meaning Khalea Lynee, a 36-year-old from St. Petersburg, FL, was cut from the show.

The performance portion of the live results show kicked off with Gracee from Blake's team singing "Landslide" by Steve Nicks.

Blake said there was a reason why Gracee was put in this position.

"I played a little bit of strategy a minute ago. I knew that if you ended up in this Final 4, you would have a serious chance of winning this spot -- because I know the country fans that watch this show are engaged, and I know you are an incredible country singer. And I believe in you!" Blake explained.

Jake then took the stage with "There's Nothing Holding Me Back" by Shawn Mendes as a member of Gwen's team.

Gwen called Jake "incredible" and said she'd love to make a record with him the most out of all her team members. Gwen gushed about how Jake deserves to be on the show, especially since he's been performing in a band since age 11.

Also fighting for a "Wild Card" spot, Hello Sunday harmonized "All By Myself" by Celine Dion.

Their coach, Kelly -- who appeared totally stunned -- yelled, "What?! Let's be real in the room right now. Not even people on the radio can hit that note... Y'all are so crazy good... We should have sang that song last night!... That was insane! People in this competition cannot do what you just did."

And finally, Alex sang "Stay" by Sam Smith for "Team Legend," hoping to secure the final spot in the Top 13.

John gushed about how he loved Alex's performance and he has such a way of being a storyteller on the stage. John said Alex has "so much soul and so much character" in his voice and he's an "immense talent" who deserves to stay on The Voice.

America was given a five-minute window to tweet or vote on The Voice app for their favorite act of the four, and by the end of the commercial break, The Voice host Carson Daly announced Hello Sunday had been instantly saved as the first-ever Wild Card artist.
