Fox announced Friday it has renewed its animated series "The Simpsons" for two more seasons.

The Hollywood Reporter quoted sources with knowledge of the decision as saying the show's voice cast accepted a 30 percent pay cut before Fox agreed to renew the series for its 24th and 25th seasons.

"Simpsons" stars Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer are expected to be paid $300,000 each per episode. They are not expected to receive a share of the profits generated by the series, something for which the actors have long fought, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

The show is the longest-running comedy in television history.
