The CW moving 'Arrow' to Thursdays and 'Legends of Tomorrow' to Tuesdays

UPI News Service, 05/18/2017

The CW will be moving its superhero drama "Arrow" to Thursday nights at 9 p.m. when the series returns for Season 6 this fall.

"Arrow" previously aired on the network for five seasons on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m.

The first of The CW's collection of DC Comics-based dramas produced by Greg Berlanti, "Arrow" will be joined on Thursdays by long-running paranormal series, "Supernatural."

Taking "Arrow's" place on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. is the Archie comics-based "Riverdale" which will serve as a lead in to the network's upcoming reboot of "Dynasty."

The move to a later time also notably keeps "Arrow" away from competing with Fox's "Batman" prequel series "Gotham," which is moving to Thursday nights at 8 p.m.

The CW is also permanently moving its superhero ensemble series "Legends of Tomorrow," to Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. following "The Flash" at 8 p.m.

"Legends" previously aired in this time slot earlier this year towards the end of Season 2.

"Legends of Tomorrow," which airs limited seasons, could potentially be replaced by upcoming superhero series "Black Lightning" during the midseason, according to Deadline.
