The Bachelorette star Michelle Young has revealed that the ending of her season really surprised her.

Only eight men remain on Michelle's The Bachelorette journey heading into the eighteenth season's sixth episode, and it appears something happened to Michelle towards the end of filming that she never anticipated or saw coming.

"I had no idea I would be in the position that I was at the end of the season," the 28-year-old teacher told Us Weekly on Friday while promoting The Bachelorette's upcoming 200th episode.

"[The ending is] something that I didn't necessarily expect, something that I didn't think was possible for me."

It's possible Michelle may have fallen in love with more than one guy, or maybe she never expected to meet the man of her dreams and get engaged.

It's also a possibility Michelle left the season with a broken heart.

"I'm excited for everybody kind of to see what that entails because I think a lot of assumptions are made, you know, of either who I end up with or if I end up with anybody," Michelle said.

Michelle suggested that she just trusted her gut and followed her instincts while filming the how.

"When it comes down to it, I came into this knowing that I was just going to stay true to who I was. And that means staying true to what you're feeling and talking about where you're at with your feelings," Michelle shared.

Michelle hinted that she's "going to show emotion" in the final episodes of The Bachelorette, although there may not be a super dramatic scene similar to what fans had watched on Katie Thurston's season when she nearly quit the show following frontrunner Greg Grippo's departure.

"For me, I'm going to show emotion. I'm going to cry. I'm going to break down. There are moments where you want to get away," Michelle admitted to Us.

"I mean, you are in this position where you're exhausted... If you're doing it right, you've just put so much in this, and everyone responds to that in different ways."

Michelle continued, "And for me, really collecting myself, really staying disciplined in what I'm feeling, how I'm speaking, how I'm communicating -- I'm doing it in a way that can be received as really important to me."

Michelle disclosed that she felt both "happy" and "hurt" in her final Bachelorette days.

"You're going to see so many different emotions," she explained.

"As far as stomping off and saying something that's necessarily, you know, uncalled for, [that's] not really my style. So I can't promise that you're going to see that, but you will see emotion and you will see my genuine feelings."

Just as Michelle embraced her feelings on The Bachelorette, she said she also "embraces opportunities as they come."

On whether she'd like to live in her home state of Minnesota long term -- and potentially have her The Bachelorette winner join her -- Michelle said, "Minnesota is where a lot of my roots stem from, but I've also lived in other areas as well."

"I can't pinpoint whether or not I'm going to be in Minnesota, you know, next year or the year after that. I fully plan to finish out the school year, but I don't know what opportunities are gonna come my way," Michelle said.

"Whether there's somebody involved in my life, whether there's not, that always would be a team decision."

Michelle therefore couldn't confirm whether she'll be staying in Minnesota for the rest of her life.

"I can say that I'm open to all opportunities. I'll take them in, I'll make decisions as I go and make sure that I'm just happy with the work I'm doing," Michelle noted.

During a recent interview with Variety, Michelle pointed out how she's "happy" with how her time on the show ended.

"I'm happy that I decided to do this," Michelle said, adding that she "surprised" herself by being "able to get my feelings where I needed them to be."

"But with where I'm at right now in my life in general, I love where I'm at," she teased in October.

"I love the opportunities that I was able to take and I love that I was able to stay true to myself and I love what the future looks like."

When asked to describe Michelle's season, The Bachelorette co-host Tayshia Adams -- who is co-hosting once again with Kaitlyn Bristowe -- told Extra TV, "I think it is a roller coaster of emotions, but in the best way."

"I think she really pushes these men to be authentic and really vulnerable, and I think it's a really beautiful love story to watch."

Kaitlyn added that Michelle is "salt of the earth" and really knew what she was looking for. The co-host said she went through the process with "grace."

The girls revealed how Michelle's season was like "a fairy tale," suggesting she may have found true love.
