Kaitlyn Bristowe is standing by her decision to have sex early on The Bachelorette despite slut-shaming since Tuesday night's extended promo for the rest of the show's eleventh season aired on ABC.

In the extended preview clip, Bristowe was shown closing the doors of her hotel room while one unidentified bachelor stayed the night seemingly weeks before the overnight fantasy-suite dates. The next morning, when crew arrived at her room to start filming, the man escaped without being seen and ran back to where he was staying completely naked.

Later in the clip, Bristowe was shown crying with regret because she hurt the many other bachelors who were still around fighting for her heart. Bristowe kept calling it "a mistake" and actually admitted she had made that mistake to her suitors, some of whom appeared sad and some of whom seemed angry and disappointed enough to leave the show prematurely.

"I'm not ashamed of it -- I just regret the timing. But I'm also not afraid to talk about it. I don't really have a problem talking about that kind of thing," Bristowe, a dance instructor from Canada, told Entertainment Tonight in a sit-down interview.

"I don't think that's a crazy thing to sleep with somebody when you're trying to be in a relationship with them. I'm a 30-year-old woman and I make my own decisions and intimacy to me is a part of every relationship and I don't know why everyone is so shocked by it. It's 2015."

Bristowe confessed she only enjoyed "a few" dates with the mystery man before sleeping with him.

"I'm an in-the-moment kind of person," Bristowe continued. "I tried to compartmentalize each relationship and be present with each guy, and some went faster than others and some went slower than others."

Bristowe elaborated that she feels intimacy is a part of looking for a lifetime partnership.

"I think maybe I'm just the first Bachelor or Bachelorette to talk about that on TV," Bristowe said, adding that there's a slight double standard about sex when considering how much backlash the Bachelor would receive for doing the same thing.

"I think he'd still take some heat for it, but maybe just not as much. It's probably a little worse because I'm a lady."

The next The Bachelorette episode airs Monday night at 8PM ET/PT on ABC.
