Discounting relationships that formed on The Bachelorette as well as former Bachelors Jason Mesnick and Arie Luyendyk Jr. -- who both tied the knot with the runner-up from their respective seasons -- Sean and Catherine are the only successful couple out of 22 prior The Bachelor editions.

So Catherine is one to trust when it comes to giving Colton, the franchise's Season 23 star, some tips on how to maintain a healthy relationship post-show.

"We watched our season separately. You don't really get a choice to watch your season together, but I wouldn't if I were you," Catherine, 32, told Us Weekly.

The graphic designer and Sean got engaged on the Season 17 finale of The Bachelor in 2013. The pair are about to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary together on January 26, and they share two sons -- Samuel, 2, and Isaiah, 7 months.

"I think you should take every Bachelor experience for what it is and not expect too much from it afterward, because it's ridiculous if you expect for your partner to plan the craziness that is a Bachelor date," Catherine admitted.

"So just enjoy it and then after, know that you're going to be kicking it in sweatpants for a very long time. And you should be happy about it!"

The brunette beauty elaborated, "It's constantly date night on The Bachelor, but you only get, like, three dates. So afterward, if you're normal, maybe once every couple of months is when you get a date night. And that's okay because Sean and I spend every waking moment together, and so it's always fun."

Catherine also said she and her husband always remember they had made a commitment to each other to stay together no matter what.

"Things get hard, but when you realize you don't ever want to say goodbye to the other person, you have to make it work! There are only two options: Don't or do. And we always wanted to do whatever it takes to stay together," Catherine explained.

It also apparently helps to tell one's significant other, "I love you," as often as possible.

"We are lovey dovey to the max. He tells me a million times a day. But the day he proposed to me, he said, 'I will tell you every day for the rest of our lives that I love you,' and he has never missed a day," Catherine gushed about Sean.

"[But] if Sean bought me red roses," she joked, "I would throw them in the trash. Over it!"

Catherine and Sean had to overcome many obstacles together after The Bachelor, especially rumors and gossip doubting Sean's loyalty and character.

"We had a lot of tabloid stuff when Sean was on Dancing with the Stars, and it was, like, comical," Catherine said, revealing she attempted to ignore all of that.

"It was so stupid. He wasn't cheating. He didn't even have time to watch TV let alone cheat on me."

In addition, Catherine told Us it's important to make one's family "feel comfortable" since they are dragged into chaos and the spotlight.

"I think in any relationship, your family just has to accept and respect your decision to be with somebody. They raised you to make your own decisions, and that's just another one," Catherine shared.

"Families -- I think just making sure they become more familiar with the person and why you love them. It's a whirlwind and you're kind of making your family go into this crazy thing with you. So, just make them feel comfortable."

Colton's season of The Bachelor is currently airing on Monday nights at 8PM ET/PT on ABC. There are currently 19 women still in the running for his heart.
