The Amazing Race's two-episode event on Wednesday night was a tough one for two Big Brother teams, as Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater survived a non-elimination leg but then Janelle Pierzina and Britney Haynes were ousted.

Rachel, 34, and Elissa, 32 -- who raced as sisters from Van Nuys, CA, and Las Vegas, NV, respectively -- arrived at the fifth Pit Stop of Season 31 at the largest man-made marina known as Dubai Marina in Dubai in last place; however, The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan informed them it was a non-elimination leg and they could continue racing.

In the second episode of the night, Janelle, 38, and Britney, 30 -- who raced as friends from Lakeville, MN, and Tulsa, OK, respectively -- checked in to the sixth Pit Stop at Jahazi Pier on the shore of Lake Victoria in Dubai in last place and were therefore eliminated from the running to win $1 million.

"Getting eliminated is not really the end of the world. My oldest daughter is a childhood cancer survivor. This is really devastating; we came here to win, but it's not the worst day of my life by a longshot," Britney cried following her team's ouster.

"And my daughter, I draw so much inspiration and strength from her... despite running the worst leg that we've ever ran, I actually had a really great day. I wanted to prove to my daughters that women can work together."

And Janelle that she and Britney had each other's back throughout the Race.

"I have gotten to know her better. She's my Big Brother bestie. She always will be and I love her like a sister. It's been incredible," Janelle said.

The Amazing Race broadcast began with former The Amazing Race racers Colin Guinn and life partner Christie Woods leaving the fourth Pit Stop in Vietnam in first place 1:46AM.

The teams were instructed to fly to the largest city in the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, where VIPs drive their luxury cars to the desert to party.

Rachel and Elissa were the last team to depart at 4:40AM, but everyone hopped on the same flight to Dubai so the order in which they left the last Pit Stop was no longer relevant.

Once in Dubai, all of the teams secured taxis and rushed to a tailgate where a group of men were awaiting them. The men revealed their next set of clues were inside the fancy, pricey cars that surrounded them.

Former The Amazing Race racers Leo Temory and friend Jamal Zadran opened their next clue in first place and discovered they must continue to travel by taxi and head back into the city to the Dubai Frame. Once there, they must make their way to the top to receive their next set of clues.

Rachel and Elissa jumped ahead of Leo and Jamal and were driving to the frame in first place, but then their cab driver took the wrong exit off a highway and got lost.

Leo and Jamal therefore opened their next clue before any of the other teams and discovered it was time to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Fall" or "Find."

"Fall" required the teams to jump off the world's tallest building after choosing a skydiving jump master. They had to keep their eyes open while parachuting down the building.

But only two teams were able to attempt this task at a time.

"Find" required the teams to head to the world's largest dinosaur park, dress in T-Rex costumes, and search through the gardens for five different colored eggs and return them to their nest.

Leo and Jamal chose to do "Fall," as did Colin and Christie.

Former Survivor castaways Chris Hammons and friend Bret LaBelle, in third place, chose to look for eggs, and then former Tyler Oakley and friend Korey Kuhl, in fourth, decided to jump.

Janelle and Britney opened their clue in fifth place and opted to go to the dinosaur park, and then former Big Brother houseguests Nicole Franzel and fiance Victor Arroyo chose to look for eggs in sixth place.

Former The Amazing Race racers Becca Droz and friend Floyd Pierce then decided to go to dinosaur park because there were so many teams ahead of them and only two teams could jump simultaneously.

Rachel and Elissa, who were in eighth place, made the same decision for the same exact reason.

While the teams who participated in "Fall" assumed they were rappelling, skydiving or bungee jumping, it turned out they just had to play with a simulator-style video game.

Little did the teams know, however, a test would be given to them after the virtual reality game ended, so they needed to pay attention to little details.

Once at the "Find" task and discovering several teams were already there, Rachel convinced Elissa to switch tasks and jump off the tall building instead. Rachel hoped jumping would be fast and it would be a game-changer for them.

While it wasn't easy for teams to find the eggs at the park, all of the teams who chose the "Fall" task failed the test at least once. And Leo and Jamal surprisingly struggled the most.

Chris and Bret completed the Detour task in first place, and they were then followed by Colin and Christie, Tyler and Korey, Becca and Floyd, Nicole and Victor, Britney and Janelle, Leo and Jamal and finally Rachel and Elissa.

The next set of clues instructed one member from each team to complete a Roadblock task. The participating Racers had to wear headphones and enter a silent rave, where all the guests were dancing to different songs in their own headphones.

The goal was to find a person in the crowd dancing to the same beat and rhythm as the Racer. If the two songs matched, a team would receive its next clue and move one.

Bret chose to do this task, along with Christie, Nicole, Floyd, Tyler, Janelle, Leo and Rachel.

Since he's a skilled drummer, Floyd got it right on his first try.

Nicole and Victor finished the task next, and they were soon followed by Tyler and Korey, Bret and Chris, Christie and Colin, Janelle and Britney, Leo and Jamal and finally Rachel and Elissa.

When Floyd ripped open his next clue, he discovered the teams would be riding the world's largest zipline to the Pit Stop at Dubai Marina.

Rachel and Elissa knew they were in last place heading to the zipline.

Becca and Floyd made it to the Pit Stop in first place and won $5,000 each. Bret and Chris finished in second place, and Colin and Christie placed third.

Tyler and Korey made it to the mat in fourth, followed by Victor and Nicole in fifth and then Janelle and Britney arrived in sixth.

Leo and Jamal survived another leg and finished in seventh place, admitting they had cut it close.

But when Rachel and Elissa finally made it the Pit Stop, Phil Keoghan informed them it was a non-elimination leg and they could continue racing.

The girls, however, would face a Speed Bump in the next leg as a consequence for their last-place finish.

"We cannot mess up again. Sometimes you get knocked down and you have to pick yourself back up. One hundred percent we are making it to Leg 12. I have no doubt in my mind; I came here to win," Rachel told the cameras.

The next episode kicked off with Becca and Floyd ripping open their next clue at 2:25AM, and Bret and Chris were only one minute behind them.

The teams were told to travel more than 2,000 miles to Uganda. After touching down and hailing a taxi, they had to go to the city of Kampala, where more than four million people commute every day. They'd find their next clue at the Uganda National Mosque.

Once again, all of the teams met at the airport and snagged seats on the same flight to Uganda. Tyler and Korey were emotional because openly-gay men are not accepted in their culture, and it made the guys so grateful for their lives in America.

It was a mad dash to land a taxi, and then the teams were asked to count the number of steps up a very tall viewing tower.

Janelle and Britney got stuck in terrible traffic on the way.

Tyler and Korey read beforehand there were 304 stairs in the mosque, so they didn't even bother counting. But it turned out the number they had read online was wrong because they were supposed to count only the marked steps.

Meanwhile, Chris rushed Bret to the top of the tower without even reading the clue at the bottom first -- so they did not count the steps and had to run back down and do it all over again.

Victor and Nicole received their next clue in first place, and they were followed by Colin and Christie, Tyler and Korey, Brett and Chris, Leo and Jamal -- after Rachel and Elissa got the answer wrong twice -- Rachel and Elissa, Becca and Floyd, and finally Janelle and Britney.

The teams were then directed to Owino Market and search for their next clue.

Nicole and Victor got there first and it became time for a Roadblock task.

The participating Racers had to shop in the market, which was about the size of 20 football fields, for ingredients to make a popular Rolex sandwich, comprised of vegetables and eggs. After successfully making the sandwich, the teams would earn their next clue.

Victor chose to do the task, and on his heels were Korey, Colin, Jamal, Chris, Floyd, and Janelle.

Janelle went searching through the vendors asking if anyone was selling a Rolex watch. She didn't realize she was about to make a sandwich, nor did she see other teams whom she could have asked for help.

Janelle was flustered and lost, and Britney watched helplessly nearby.

After wandering around aimlessly, Janelle decided to look close near Britney and still didn't spot all of the signs that said "Rolex" around her. Once she discovered where the vendor was, she broke down into tears and called herself "stupid."

Once Rachel and Elissa arrived at the market, they had to complete a Speed Bump task. They had to hand wash dirty clothes and find places to hand them up to dry. Once they got the job done, Rachel opted to make the sandwich.

Victor and Nicole finished the Roadblock task in first place, and then they were followed by Tyler and Korey, Colin and Christie, Chris and Bret, Leo and Jamal, Becca and Floyd, Rachel and Elissa, and finally Janelle and Britney.

The teams then made their way by taxi to Ggaba Landing Site and find the village boat builders to receive their next clue.

Colin and Christie found the boat builders in first place and ripped open their next set of clues, instructing the teams to complete one of two possible Detour tasks: "Salty Roll" or "Move the Pole."

"Salty Roll" required the teams to master the process of preserving fresh water fish in salt.

"Move the Pole" required the teams to load firewood logs onto a bicycle and then deliver and stack them in a specific way. It proved to be a balancing act.

Everyone chose to do the wood task, except for Rachel and Elissa and Janelle and Britney.

Tyler and Korey completed the Detour in first place and learned it was time to compete in a head-to-head challenge.

Two teams at a time had to race to solve a puzzle as drummers surrounding them played music. Drums needed to be color coordinated in four different stacks.

The winner of each matchup would be able to check in to the Pit Stop at Jahazi Pier on the shore of Lake Victoria. The losers, however, had to face the next opponent and so on and so forth until one team got eliminated.

Colin and Christie finished the Detour next, and Nicole and Victor were right behind them.

Tyler and Korey squared off against Colin and Christie first. Tyler and Korey won and received a trip to Singapore for finishing the leg in first place.

Colin and Christie therefore faced Nicole and Victor next, and Colin and Christie won and therefore placed second at the Pit Stop.

Nicole and Victor battled Chris and Bret next, and Nicole and Victor won. The engaged couple placed third as a result.

Chris and Bret defeated Becca and Floyd, so the guys finished in fourth placed.

Floyd and Becca beat Leo and Jamal for fifth place, and then Jamal and Leo placed sixth after finishing their puzzle faster than Rachel and Elissa.

The final faceoff of the day was a Big Brother battle between Rachel and Elissa and Janelle and Britney.

In the end, Rachel and Elissa won, but all four girls held hands and ran to the Pit Stop. Janelle and Britney were then eliminated from the Race.
