Teresa Giudice competed in her first bodybuilding contest Saturday in New Jersey.
Giudice showed off her toned physique in a purple bikini with rhinestone accents. She competed against six other women in the 40-plus bikini category.
"She has been training since December five or six times per week," a source said. "[She] wanted to challenge herself physically and is extremely happy with how she did."
Insiders told People the "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star is in "the best shape of her life."
"She had the time of her life competing," a source said. "She really enjoyed pushing herself... the discipline, the focus. She may do it again in the future."Fitness trainer Tara Zito congratulated Giudice in an Instagram post Saturday.
"Show time Saturday! So proud of @teresagiudice for stepping on stage today for her first time ever in the bikini division! Looks like she is going to take home a top 3 placing!!" she wrote.
She said in an interview with ABC News in October that she blames her husband, Joe Giudice, for her prison sentence.
