A one-eyed eastern screech owl found found a new home after being taken in by a local zoo in Tennessee.
Chattanooga Zoo shared a photo of Oedipus the one-eyed owl, who became a permanent resident at the zoo after being rescued by the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
Oedipus suffered an eye injury that forced rescuers to have it removed, greatly hindering his ability to hunt and survive in the wild.
"When injuries like this occur, it is crucial to find a permanent facility in which to place the animal," the zoo wrote on Faceook. "And we are so excited that Oedipus can call the Chattanooga Zoo his forever home!"
Oedipus will join Chattanooga Zoo's animal ambassador team, designed to increase awareness about environmental conservation both locally and globally.
