Survivor fans are preparing to vote for whether Individual Immunity Idols will be in play on the CBS reality series' milestone 50th season.

CBS announced in February that Survivor 50 will have an interactive theme and be "in the hands of fans" when it premieres in February 2026.

Fans have been able to vote online to decide key elements in the game for over a month now, and Survivor viewers will be able to decide on idols tonight before filming officially begins this spring.

Voting -- for or against idols on Season 50 -- will commence during Survivor's Season 48 episode airing Wednesday, May 14 at 8PM ET/PT, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The subject of Individual Immunity Idols will be the last category fans will have a say in.

Once voting opens, fans can register their decision on idols via survivor50cbs.votenow.tv.

Survivor has included idols every season since Season 11. Survivor's tenth season dubbed Survivor: Palau did not include idols.

Survivor host and showrunner Jeff Probst is expected to explain how fans can vote on idols during a commercial break of the show's upcoming Season 48 episode.

The question for fans, according to EW, will be as follows: "Your last big decision regarding gameplay! Idols are a big part of today's game and responsible for some of the most dramatic moves in Survivor history -- but for Survivor 50, YOU get to decide: IDOLS or NO IDOLS."

Voting on Survivor elements for Season 50 had begun on February 26.

Rounds of voting over the last month or so included "Final Four Fire Making: Keep It or Lose It" as well as "Live Finale and Reunion Show in L.A. -- or Keep the Winner Reveal and Aftershow in the Jungles of Fiji."

Jeff had teased in April 2024 that Survivor fans will also be pleased to see a cast of returning players for its 50th season.

A couple of months later, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach told Deadline that she was going to view Survivor 50 as "a year-long celebration."

The CBS executive shared, "We do that really well on CBS. We will have a lot of plans in the works... it'd be the first time in the new era that will have returning players. That's really exciting."

Survivor premiered in May 2000. The first time Survivor featured a cast of returning castaways was Season 8, which was titled Survivor: All-Stars.

The first time the series featured a cast of all former winners was Season 40, which was dubbed Survivor: Winners at War.

Since the start of Survivor's "new era" with Season 41, Survivor has not featured veteran players, except for Bruce Perreault's second chance following his unfortunate medical evacuation from the show.

Jeff previously told People that he continues to be passionate about Survivor, even after 25 years of being the show's host.

"I love Survivor. Still love it. And honestly, nothing makes me happier than seeing people who also like it," Jeff explained, adding how the show connects him to viewers, young and old.

"I know it seems crazy, but I love the job. I really do. I am naturally curious and I'm mostly curious about human behavior, why we do the things we do. And I've had a front-row seat to that for 24 years."

He added, "So when people say, 'I can't believe you're still so enthusiastic,' I say, 'Well, that's just because you don't know me."

Jeff insisted that his friends know the truth, adding, "Because my friends know, 'Oh, Probst will do that forever. He loves this.'"

Jeff said he learns from Survivor players all the time how to live his life.

"And I know it sounds corny, but I think Survivor's an adventure and the game is the lure," Jeff explained.

"The experience is the prize. And that's why when it's over, you've played this fun game, found an idol, won a challenge, got a blindside under your belt, but when it's over, you're a different human. That's what's cool about Survivor."
