Russell Wilson defended girlfriend Ciara after sportscaster Bonnie Bernstein criticized her cleavage-baring dress at the National Championship Game.

The 27-year-old Seattle Seahawks quarterback praised the 30-year-old singer on Twitter.

"I see you baby!! Sounded amazing & looked flawless in every way! @ciara #NationalChampionship," the NFL star captioned a photo of the singer performing the national anthem.

Ciara wore a white sparkling dress with matching cape to the Alabama Crimson Tide and Clemson Tigers showdown. The gown's plunging neckline caused Bernstein to tweet, "Dear Ciara. You're stunning. But this is a National Championship Game. Kids are watching. Cover up."

Ciara has yet to address the controversy, and simply tweeted, "Truly grateful for this moment, and to be a part of a special night #NationalChampionship." Bernstein later responded to angry fans who accused her of criticizing Ciara because the singer is black.

"Truly am amazed at how people take a tweet (that includes a compliment!) & wanna make it about race. Seriously. Grow up. Watch the game," the sportscaster wrote.

Ciara and Wilson have been dating since spring 2015, and celebrated their first Christmas together over the holidays. Rapper Future called out the singer over visitation rights to their son after Ciara posted about her "best Christmas ever" on Instagram.
