Catherine Ashley -- who will allegedly be one of the women featured in Bravo's new The Real Housewives of D.C. reality series when it premieres later this year -- has reportedly separated from her husband Charles Ommanney.

Catherine, a British mother of two, and Charles, a Newsweek photographer, recently separated, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

According to a source, the couple's participation in The Real Housewives of D.C. may have played a role in their split.

"There's no question that having a television crew in their home all those months was a huge strain," a friend of the couple told The Post.

Catherine and Charles wed in 2008 after briefly dating, The Post reported.

Bravo is expected to formally announce The Real Housewives of D.C. cast "soon," according to The Post, which reported the cast will also include socialite Mary Amons, infamous White House gate crashers Michaele and Tareq Salahi, real estate agent Stacie Turner and modeling agency owner Lynda Erkiletian.

Catherine was well-liked by her The Real Housewives of D.C. co-stars, sources close to production told The Post.

Bravo began developing the fifth edition of its The Real Housewives franchise in May 2009 and formally ordered it last October.
