Developer Atlus has announced that its critically-acclaimed role-playing game sequel Persona 5 is being adapted into an anime series.

The announcement was made on Atlus' Japanese Twitter account alongside news that studio A-1 Pictures would be handling the animation.

A-1 is known for producing anime series Sword Art Online and has previously worked on other Persona anime projects based around previous titles in the franchise such as Persona 3 and Persona 4.

There is no word yet on whether Persona 5 the Animation will be localized for western audiences.

Persona 5, which launched in the United States on April 4, notably featured an anime-inspired art style and animated cut scenes.
