Paula Abdul has hinted that a reunion with Simon Cowell on The X Factor's judging panel could be in the works.

"I'm going to be doing television. That's all I can say," said Abdul during a Friday morning appearance on the John Jay and Rich radio show before being asked to "drop a clue."

"Drop a clue? Oh, I'm gonna be going back to my roots and doing a TV show that has something to do with my roots."

Last month, Cowell inked a deal with Fox that will end his American Idol judging role while also launching his British The X Factor reality competition series for the network in Fall 2011.

He immediately began hinting that The X Factor may give him a chance to reunite with Abdul -- who announced last summer that she was leaving American Idol.

Abdul told John Jay and Rich she "absolutely" still talks to Cowell but continued to remain mum when pressed about if it had to do with her possible involvement with The X Factor.

"I knew that I would not be able to say certain things. I want to be able to say everything right now, but I can't," she said, adding that rumors are just that unless they come from her.

"You'll just have to hear it from me. I hate having to say that, but you know, there are a lot of factors."

In addition, Abdul said she's currently "developing several television projects," which she also was tight-lipped about.

"There's certain things that I'm not able to say yet -- but very, very quickly. Soon," she teased.

Abdul added she's also been traveling and taking and teaching classes since announcing her American Idol departure last summer.

"I miss the show. But it's going to be fine. It's going to be great," she told the radio deejays.

Abdul also feels that the ninth-season competition on American Idol will be a good one.

"I think that it's going to be a really close season," she said.

"It's a different season from last year. The talent is a different kind of talent but, nonetheless, there's some really great people."
