One of the hottest U.S. baby names is Nevaeh -- heaven spelled backward --and folks have a Christian rocker to thank.

POD rocker Sonny Sandoval named his daughter Nevaeh in 2000, announced it on MTV's "TRL" and it took off, American Names Society's Kent Adams told ABC News.

Before 2,000 there only eight Nevaehs in the United States. One year later, it had cracked the list of the top 1,000 baby names and last year it surpassed old standbys such as Kate, Rebecca and Amy.

Nevaeh's jump to the 70th most popular name in 2005 was the biggest leap for any name in more than a century, ABC News said.
