Nick Jonas knew he would marry his fiancee, Priyanka Chopra, after their third date.
Jonas and Chopra first met at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscar party.
The pair exchanged flirty texts for months before meeting for a drink and going back to Chopra's apartment ahead of the 2017 Met Gala.
"We hung out for a couple of hours," the actress recalled. "He patted my back before he left."
Jonas and Chopra went a year before reconnecting at the 2018 Met Gala in May. Jonas told his mom he was going to marry Chopra after attending a Los Angeles Dodgers game with the actress.
"This is date three," Chopra said.
"I got down on one knee," the singer recounted. "I said: Will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?"
"No joke -- she took about 45 seconds. Forty-five seconds of silence," he said of Chopra's reaction.
"I'm going to put this ring on your finger now unless you have any objections."
Jonas and Chopra are expected to marry over the weekend at a palace in Rajasthan, India.
The couple partied with family and friends, including Jonas' brother Joe Jonas and his fiancee, Sophie Turner, Monday in Mumbai.
