The title role in the WB Network's "Aquaman" has been given to newcomer Will Toale, it was reported Monday.

With a star in place, Warner Bros. Television is now ready to film the pilot based on the DC Comics series, The Hollywood Reporter said.

"Smallville" executive producers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough are the forces behind "Aquaman," The Reporter said.

The general theme revolves around the superhero who lives underwater and calls on marine creatures to help him fight crime.
