NBC has announced songwriter and producer Jeffrey Steele will round out Nashville Star's sixth-season judging and mentoring panel.

Steele will join country singer, songwriter and producer John Rich and Nashville Star fifth-season host Jewel, who were both previously announced as sixth season judges and mentors.

Steele is a two time Broadcast Music, Inc. Songwriter of the Year who also claimed the Nashville Songwriters Association International's Writer of the Year honors for three consecutive years.  He has penned songs for numerous country music artists, including Montgomery Gentry, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts and VanZant.

Hosted by former Dancing with the Stars fourth-season celebrity participant Billy Ray Cyrus, Nashville Star's sixth season will premiere Monday, June 9 at 9:30PM ET/PT.

The winner will receive a recording contract and the opportunity to perform at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, which will commence August 8 and be broadcast on NBC.
