Milana Vayntrub will star in Freeform's new "Marvel's New Warriors" TV series. The 30-year-old actress will join Derek Theler, Jeremy Tardy, Calum Worthy, Matthew Moy and Kate Comer in the forthcoming Freeform show, according to the Los Angeles Times. Vayntrub will play Doreen Green, aka Squirrel Girl, with Theler as Mister Immortal, Tardy as Night Thrasher, Worthy as Speedball, Moy as Microbe and Comer as Debrii. "I am thrilled beyond belief to be working with this incredible group of actors," executive producer Kevin Biegel said in a press release. "They are funny, sincere, eager, charming and perfectly embody these characters. It'll be a blast and an honor to create this show with each of them." "Marvel's New Warriors" is based on the New Warriors superhero team in Marvel comics. The show will follow Squirrel Girl, Mister Immortal, Night Thrasher, Speedball, Microbe and Debrii as they discover and develop their powers. "We're so lucky to have assembled such a diverse and incredibly talented cast," Marvel Television EVP Jeph Loeb said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "We can't wait for the fans to see what's in store when we unleash these iconic characters into the world!" Vayntrub has played Lily Adams in AT&T television commercials. She has also appeared on the series "House of Lies," "Silicon Valley" and "Other Space," and portrayed Sloane Sandburg on the NBC drama "This is Us."
