Married at First Sight will be returning for Season 8 early next year, and its upcoming season will apparently be bigger than ever.

"The biggest season is coming with a can't-miss premiere everyone will be talking about," Lifetime revealed in a commercial aired during the show's Season 7 finale broadcast on Tuesday evening.

"Married at First Sight new season coming in January only on Lifetime."

The network, however, did not specify what will make Season 8 the reality franchise's biggest yet -- leaving viewers to speculate if the season's experiment might last longer than the usual eight-week duration, or if it may feature more than three couples.

When contacted by Reality TV World, a Lifetime representative said the network was not releasing any additional details at this time but more information will be coming soon.

Married at First Sight's eighth season is expected to take place in Philadelphia, PA.

Back in April, the series had announced casting for the next edition was underway, with producers looking for courageous singles from Philadelphia to participate in the extreme social experiment.

The news was announced on Married at First Sight's casting pages on Lifetime's website as well as Facebook.

An image was posted on the Facebook casting page's reading, "Single and brave? Appear to be 26 to 35? Live in the Philly area? Exhausted all dating options? Ready to find the love of your life? We want to hear from you!"

The Married at First Sight application asked applicants if they would be available for interviews in July, and the season has been filming in the Philadelphia area this fall, according to social media postings.

In late August, Married at First Sight expert Dr. Jessica Griffin also shared photos of herself and fellow MAFS expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz posing in front of Philadelphia's "LOVE" sculpture landmark on Instagram.

Married at First Sight typically changes its filming location each season, and previous editions have filmed in cities including Atlanta, GA; Miami, FL; Chicago, IL; and Boston, MA. The most recent edition was filmed in Dallas, TX.

Married at First Sight features experts matching up pairs of strangers based on their compatibility, goals, hobbies, religion, views of marriage, and more.

Last season's experts were sociologist Dr. Pepper, psychologist and professor Dr. Jessica, and marriage counselor Pastor Calvin Roberson.

After meeting for the first time at their wedding ceremony, each couple gets married and the next eight weeks of their lives are documented -- beginning with their wedding ceremony, reception and honeymoon, and continuing with the joys and struggles of daily life as they move in together and adjust to their new life as a married couple.

Married at First Sight's seventh season just wrapped with "Decision Day," the day on which each couple, having reached the end of the eight-week experiment, must decide whether to still remain married or divorce.

Season 7's three participating couples -- Tristan Thompson and Mia Bally, Dave Flaherty and Amber Martorana, and Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman -- all decided to stay married instead of getting divorced.

The Season 7 reunion special is set to air next week on Tuesday, October 23 on Lifetime and feature updates on the current status of each relationship.
