At the time filming commenced for Happily Ever After, all three couples were expecting their first child together.

The Married at First Sight broadcast began with the experts giving each couple an exercise during Week 3 of the Happily Ever After process.

Each couple was asked to write down what they want to keep or get rid of in their relationship.

While Anthony and Ashley, who was four months pregnant, agreed to keep date night and humor in their marriage, Anthony asked Ashley to get rid of her stubbornness because petty things can often turn into big arguments.

Ashley agreed she needed to work on being stubborn because she hoped to set a great example for her daughter.

Danielle said she and Bobby needed to focus on having fun together and keeping their friends, while Bobby noted it was important to him to remain intimate.

Since Danielle was feeling nauseous all the time, their physical connection was lacking.

In terms of what they'd like to get rid of, Bobby said "pointless spending" on eyelashes and Danielle getting her hair done. Danielle, however, no longer wanted to feel unorganized in their home.

As for Shawniece and Jephte, they agreed on maintaining health, fitness, communication, and keeping family close. Shawniece told Jephte she wanted to stop shutting down emotionally and eating fast food.

Later on, Bobby and Danielle sat down together to learn the sex of their baby three months into her pregnancy.

Bobby was absolutely convinced they had a baby boy on the way, but Danielle apparently had a dream she was pregnant with a girl.

"I've always said I've wanted all boys, but at this point, the further I get into my pregnancy, the less I care about the sex. I think it's just important our baby is healthy, but I know Bobby is rooting for that boy, for sure," Danielle said.

Bobby hoped to have a son and name him Bobby Dodd IV, but he insisted to Danielle he wouldn't be disappointed if they were to welcome a daughter.

Upon learning a baby girl was on the way, Bobby said, "No f-cking way! What?!"

"I knew it," Danielle noted.

"I swear to God I was so certain it was a boy. We're going to have to try again," Bobby said.

"Not for awhile," Danielle insisted.

"I'm shocked 10 [on a scale from 1-10], but I'm super excited," Bobby told his wife, before telling her that she was going to be a great girl mom.

Afterward, Shawniece and her mother Denise went shopping for the baby. Denise suggested Shawniece should take a couple weeks off of work, but she wasn't sure about what to do.

Shawniece was anxious and did her best not to overwhelm herself.

"My body right now is just tired. I'm exhausted, I've had enough and my bladder can't hold anything. I'm over it," Shawniece told the cameras nearing the end of her pregnancy.

Dr. Pepper Schwartz then visited Anthony and Ashley in their home. Ashley admitted she felt pain and wasn't sleeping well because she had to pee every hour of the night. However, Ashley said the experience hadn't been too difficult thus far.

Ashley revealed Anthony was being super helpful, more than he ever helped out before, and she didn't feel bad about taking advantage of that.

Ashley admitted, however, she was struggling with body-image issues.

Anthony then opened up to Dr. Pepper about how his biggest fear was to lose themselves and their relationship because they're entirely focused on their child's wants and needs. Anthony planned to go out a couple of times a month to keep things healthy and fresh.

After Danielle and Bobby were shown going through some clothes for a baby girl -- which made Bobby even more excited about the idea of having a daughter -- Shawniece was shown crying out of exhaustion.

Shawniece said the couple hasn't done much for their nursery and they needed to buy a lot of supplies in order to feel prepared for the baby's arrival. Jephte offered to complete some tasks in order to lessen the burden on Shawniece's shoulders.

Suddenly, footage flashed to Shawniece at the hospital. She said she was either peeing herself or leaking amniotic fluid. Shawniece told the cameras she was "so scared."

Shawniece had an emergency walk-in appointment, but it turned out the fluid was just urine and the doctors advised her to wear pads.

Shawniece told her husband that the baby was sitting on her bladder and she had hemorrhoids. Although she was a little embarrassed about her condition, Shawniece said she was no longer shy about the changes in her body because she was carrying his child.

Afterward, Anthony and Ashley were shown keeping their love and passion alive by dancing in their living room, and then Bobby and Danielle started to throw away things they didn't need from their home.

Danielle took charge in deciding what stays or goes, such as Bobby's leather recliners. Bobby realized they were getting rid of mostly his stuff, but he wasn't complaining.

Bobby was trying to save money, so if he had it his way, he wouldn't get rid of much of anything. However, his goal was to keep Danielle happy.

Meanwhile, Ashley and Anthony attended a dance class for date night, and Anthony's takeaway from the class was that he's simply not a good dancer.

Footage then flashed to 1AM and Shawniece being in great pain. Shawniece vented about how they had nothing prepared because they thought they had at least another month before the baby's arrival.

"Maybe the baby is coming. I'm not sure... I really just don't know what to do," Jephte said in a confessional.

"I've never had these pains before," Shawniece said.

The couple then drove to the hospital, with Shawniece screaming in agony the whole way.

"I'm not ready to have a baby in my car," Jephte joked, before Shawniece repeated how "it hurt so, so, so bad."

"This pain is serious. So right now, I am aware that I am having this baby," Shawniece told the cameras.

Shawniece and Jephte made it to the hospital, and he just hoped his wife and the baby were both safe since it appeared she was going into labor one month early.

Footage then captured Shawniece pushing the baby out, and Jephte could be seen saying, "She's so close."

The episode concluded with doctors asking Shawniece to push over and over again, as Jephte stood there looking completely overwhelmed.
