The couples were matched by Married at First Sight experts Pastor Calvin Roberson, Dr. Jessica Griffin, and Dr. Pepper Schwartz based on compatibility, personality, life goals, hobbies, religion, views of marriage and gender roles, and much more.

Over the course of the season, which filmed for seven weeks, each couple will be shown navigating the joys and struggles of daily life together after agreeing to an arranged marriage.

The Married at First Sight broadcast began on Day 21 of marriage, with AJ saying he and Stephanie were "crushing it" when it comes to "this whole marriage thing."

AJ told his wife he's aware that he can be overwhelming and overly talkative, especially when he comes home from work. AJ therefore advised Stephanie to shut his mouth if she wants to get a word in and express her emotions.

Stephanie said AJ seemed to be exactly what she hoped for. Her past relationships had ended "tragically," but she was very hopeful and optimistic about this new relationship -- although still a bit apprehensive.

"I've had some bad experiences in the past that involved my significant other cheating on me," Stephanie told the cameras.

"It really sucked because those were relationships I could see going the distance, but then it was just like the rug was ripped out from under me. But with AJ, I'm hopeful because I don't see that behavior coming from him."

Dr. Pepper was then shown meeting with Luke and Kate separately to figure out some things about their relationship. For instance, Luke had made some comments to producers that he hadn't shared with his wife.

Luke admitted it was unusual for him to be turned off by the idea of kissing a woman he's dating, but he said he couldn't force himself to have feelings that simply weren't there yet.

"I don't want to be pressured into anything. When she drinks, she's persistent and she wants to kiss me. I'm not about it. I don't know what else to tell you," Luke told Dr. Pepper.

Luke then acknowledged to Dr. Pepper that he thought Kate had "a drinking problem," although he was reluctant to use that phrase.

"She just drinks more than I do," Luke clarified. "I've only known Kate for less than a month, so I don't know what normal drinking is for her, but it seems like a lot."

Luke was concerned Kate was drinking as "a coping mechanism" to deal with their awkward situation.

Dr. Pepper insisted Luke and Kate needed to discuss this issue and work through things in order to hopefully move forward. Dr. Pepper noted communication is key, even when a discussion is difficult.

Kate then told Dr. Pepper that Luke had been open about the fact he felt pressured to participate in physical intimacy. However, Kate said it felt "natural" for her when they were lying in bed together, snuggling, and touching each other.

"I don't understand how you could do all of this to me and then, at the same time, still feel pressured to just kiss me," Kate explained, adding that she was getting "mixed signals" from Luke.

Dr. Pepper then shared Luke's concerns about her drinking too much, and Kate was absolutely shocked. Kate vented it "didn't make any sense" and she definitely didn't have a problem.

The conversation progressed to one between Kate and Luke, with Dr. Pepper listening. Luke was afraid to "beat down" his wife, but Dr. Pepper said it was necessary to have these serious talks.

Kate asked Luke to give her an example of when she drank too much and he couldn't. Kate said she went out with her friends a lot and they drank socially but she didn't have a problem.

"I'm sorry I said that," Luke told his wife.

Kate expressed frustration over the fact Luke hadn't been open with her about what was bothering him. Kate wanted to know what she could do to make things better and how she could make their relationship grow.

Kate said she'd be "heartbroken" if her marriage didn't work out, but it had been a bumpy ride up to this point.

The couples were then assigned the "phone-swap exercise" so they could talk about trust, boundaries and privacy.

As Kristine scrolled down in Keith's phone, she found "inappropriate pictures" of his ex-girlfriend, and it pissed her off.

Keith explained he dated the girl for over four years and they broke up due to distance and her desire for "a break." They apparently broke up one year before Keith's stint on Married at First Sight.

"It's kind of hurtful he's holding onto these photos now that I'm his wife, especially these risque photos. It's making me a little insecure, and I really don't like that feeling," Kristine said in a confessional.

"I've seen enough. The fact he hasn't deleted these photos yet makes me feel like he still has feelings for his ex, and that worries me."

Kristine was "really falling for Keith," and so it hurt her to find "naked photos" of a former flame all over his phone.

Kristine therefore asked Keith to delete all the photos of his ex from his phone, but the episode didn't show whether he obliged.

Afterward, Jasmine and Will played "the fishbowl game," and she hoped opening up to each other would ramp up their intimacy. Jasmine wasn't happy the couple had yet to have sex, as she was ready for that.

One of the questions asked Will and Jasmine what ended their past relationships. Jasmine revealed an ex no longer wanted to have children, and Will said he previously had problems with distance and communications.

Will also shared a "romantic fantasy" in that Jasmine would be dressed up like a librarian with glasses. Jasmine teased him for being into "book nerds," but she was happy he came up with something she could do to advance things in their relationship.

AJ and Stephanie were then shown body-painting at home to spice things up in their marriage. AJ gushed about how hot his wife looked in a bikini, and he found the experience pretty erotic and fun.

Meanwhile, Luke and Kate enjoyed a nice dinner out and Luke was prepared to communicate with his wife better.

Luke revealed at dinner he may be sensitive to others drinking because his best friend from high school got hit by a drunk driver during his freshman year in college. Luke lost his friend in the accident, and so Luke said he didn't begin drinking until he reached the age of 25.

"I think you're fine. I just worry -- overly," Luke said. "I feel bad because I really did mess up by telling people Kate had been drinking too much. I understand I am a big cause of the stressful situation. Kate's not responsible for it."

Kate was glad to hear Luke's concern was coming from a good place, as he cared about her well-being. After their difficult conversation, Luke looked at his wife and said, "You're so nice!"

Pastor Cal then called Kristine and Keith to check up on how things were going between them.

Kristine disclosed how she was uncomfortable with the photos in Keith's phone, and then he explained the woman was a huge part of his life for four-and-a-half years so that's why he kept the pictures and didn't feel it was necessary to delete them.

Pastor Cal said Keith needed to be completely focused on and loyal to his wife, and then Keith insisted he never looked back on the photos and they served no purpose in his life.

Since Kristine was now his queen, Keith acknowledged it was time to deleted the pictures and he would be "glad" to do so.

"Keith really hasn't done anything to make me feel like I can't trust him. It just took a little bit of an outside perspective for me to realize that," Kristine noted.

Later on, AJ was shown getting aggravated over where he and Stephanie should eat during an Eagles football game. Stephanie confessed "the smallest things can set him off" and then he gets "really short and snippy."

Stephanie didn't appreciate how AJ's attitude could change with the flip of a switch, but she didn't voice her anger.

Meanwhile, Kate met with two of her girlfriends to dish on her marriage with Luke. Kate said she trusted Luke more and felt more comfortable around him after he opened up about the loss of his friends, but Kate's pals thought it was "odd" Luke would talk to others about her in that manner.

"I feel like Luke is not treating Kate the way she deserves to be treated. I'm just worried she's going to get hurt," one of Kate's pals told the cameras.

Luke apparently told Kate she's beautiful and he didn't understand why he wasn't attracted to her. Kate promised her friends, however, that Luke wanted to try and they really were a good match.

As for Keith and Kristine, they played a little game involving dice in the bedroom, and their last fight had made them stronger than ever.
