Madonna surprised children in two Manila shelters when she made an unexpected appearance Tuesday with her dance team.

Administrators of the Hospicio de San Joe orphanage and Bahay Tuluyan shelter, which house street and orphaned children, were expecting the dancers but did not know Madonna was coming until an hour before.

The pop star bombarded her Instagram account with pictures of herself with her "homies." However, according to officials at both centers, Madonna's staff asked them not to take photos.

"Chillin with my Homies at the Bahay Tuluyan Foundation. Inc. giving shelter to Orphans street children trafficking/abuse victims in Manilla¼ ♥¸#rebelheartour," Madonna captioned an upside-down selfie with the kids.

Catherine Scerri, deputy executive director of Bahay Tuluyan, said the star spent more than 45 minutes with the children but took time to ask about the shelter's program.

Madonna is in the Philippine capital for her #RebelHeartTour, with shows Wednesday and Thursday night at the Manila's Mall of Asia Arena.
