The reason why Meet the Barkers' stars Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler reconciled their relationship is simple really.

"I think [it was] love, keeping our family together and believing in ourselves," Barker told People on Tuesday at Complex Magazine's fifth anniversary party in Los Angeles.   "We're just trying to move forward with a clean slate."

Barker filed for divorce from Moakler in August 2006 and the couple put their 12,000-square-foot Tuscan villa in Bel Air, CA -- where much of MTV's Meet the Barkers was filmed -- on the market for $8.5 million shortly thereafter.  However rumors began to circulate in early January that the couple had reunited when they were spotted "in full make-out mode" in Los Angeles.  Moakler confirmed the rumors in late March when Barker threw her a 32nd birthday bash and the two were seen kissing again.

"We're pulling out of the separation. We're still married," Moakler told People.  While at Complex Magazine's party, People reported Barker and Moakler walked hand-in-hand into the celebration and both wore their wedding rings, and were also seen kissing, cuddling and canoodling.

With the reconciliation seemingly going swimmingly, a problem nearly arose when Paris Hilton arrived at the party with her new boyfriend, Desperate Housewives actor Josh Henderson.  The problem?  Barker was seen kissing Hilton in the months following his divorce from Moakler, which caused her to get in a catfight with The Simple Life star.  However according to People, the couples "kept their distance" from one another.

Moakler, a former Miss USA and Playboy model who appeared in the third season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars, and Barker, the former drummer for Blink 182 and current stick-man for Plus 44, were married in a Nightmare Before Christmas-themed wedding in 2004.

Meet the Barkers, their Newlyweds-like MTV reality series, lasted two seasons and 12 episodes between April 2005 and March 2006 and followed the couple and their two children, three-year-old son Landon and one-year-old daughter Alabama, as well as Moakler's seven-year-old daughter Atiana, whom she had with boxer Oscar de la Hoya.

"Oh my gosh, [making the kids happy] is like the biggest treat of all," Barker told People.

In March Moakler also denied that she was pregnant with she and Barker's third child, although the family did just receive a new member.

"We got [the kids] a puppy today. It's a little French bulldog," Moakler told People.
