According to Warner Bros., the TV production studio behind the ABC reality series, Lincoln lied to The Bacheloretteproducers during casting about his May 2016 arrest for which he was convicted of indecent assault and battery on a woman last month, TMZ reported.
"No one on The Bachelorette production had any knowledge about the incident or charges when Lincoln Adim was cast, and he himself denied ever having engaged in or been charged with any sexual misconduct," Warner Bros. said in a statement obtained by TMZ.
"We employ a well-respected and highly experienced third party who has done thousands of background checks consistent with industry standards to do a nationwide background check in this case. The report we received did not reference any incident or charge relating to the recent conviction -- or any other charges relating to sexual misconduct."
The studio added, "We are currently investigating why the report did not contain this information."
The Bachelorette's fourteenth season is currently airing on ABC, and Becca has yet to eliminate the 26-year-old account sales executive from Nigeria who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
The Suffolk County District Attorney's office told The Hollywood Reporter in a Wednesday statement Lincoln's conviction stemmed from a May 30, 2016 incident in which he groped and assaulted an adult female on a harbor cruise ship in Boston, MA.
A law enforcement source subsequently told TMZ that Lincoln grabbed the woman's hands and placed them on his own chest and stomach before groping her breasts and grinding up on her on a ship called the Spirit of Boston.
Lincoln was sentenced to one year in prison; however, the term has been suspended for a two-year probationary period.
He reportedly must attend three Alcoholic Anonymous meetings every week for those two years and is expecting to register as a sex offender.

Lincoln was charged with this sex crime just one week before The Bachelorette premiered its new season on May 28.
Lincoln, known for his cute British accent, first introduced himself to Becca on live TV during The Bachelor: After the Final Rose that served as the conclusion of Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season in March.
Lincoln participated in the first group date on The Bachelorette and was accused of cheating in the obstacle-course competition, which he ultimately won. Lincoln was also shown breaking down into tears following a heated argument with fellow suitor Connor Obrochta over a broken picture frame.
According to his ABC bio, Lincoln grew up in the UK and moved to Boston when he was a teenager. He later attended college in Kentucky.
