Janet Weidenheimer, who worked as a nanny for the Gosselin family's children and appeared in several Jon & Kate Plus 8 episodes, passed away on October 28 due to undisclosed reasons. She was 72.

Funeral services for Weidenheimer were held on Saturday in Pennsylvania, Entertainment Tonight reported.

Affectionately known as "Nana Janet," Weidenheimer appeared in Jon & Kate Plus 8's early episodes as a voluntary assistant who cared for the family's eight children.

Most notably, she rode a pony during the sextuplet's third birthday party in an October 2007 second-season episode.

"Nana Janet, she is entertaining. She's 69, she's crazy -- she's really loud and fun," said Kate Gosselin during the episode.

In addition, Gosselin referred to Weidenheimer as a "pseudo grandparent."
