Jennifer Garner's three children benefit from the "structure" going to church on a weekly basis provides, according to the actress.

Speaking on "Good Morning Texas" this week, the "Miracles from Heaven" actress described a good deal of her upbringing took place in church.

"I grew up going to church every Sunday of my life," she said. "And when I did move to LA, it wasn't something that was just part of the culture there in the same way, at least in my life. But it didn't mean that I lost who I was."

Garner, who announced in June her split from husband Ben Affleck, told the show's host alongside "Miracles from Heaven" author, Christy Beam, the film inspired her to return to church.

"There was something about doing this film and talking to my kids about it and realizing that they were looking for the structure of church every Sunday," she said.

"So it was a great gift of this film that it took us back to finding our local Methodist church and going every Sunday. It's really sweet."
