Ingrid Nilsen has revealed she is gay.

The 26-year-old YouTube star and "Project Runway: Threads" judge came out to her 3.3 million followers on the video sharing website in an emotional post Tuesday. Nilsen is a popular beauty video blogger known for her GIY (Glam It Yourself) and DIY (Do It Yourself) tutorials.

"I'm doing this. I guess I'm just going to get right to it. There is something I want you to know -- and that something is I'm gay," she said. "It feels so good to say that. I'm shaking now because this moment is real, and it's here, and I've been waiting for this for a long time."

Nilsen said she has "always known since [her] earliest memories" and felt attracted to other females by age four, but grew up in an environment where being gay "was not universally accepted." This led her to suppress her sexuality in order to seek "love and approval."

"I want to live my life my life unapologetically because I am proud of who I am and I am not going to apologize for who I am anymore," she declared. "This is the life that I have always lived in my head and now it's real."

Nilsen's video has received nearly 2 million views thus far, with thousands of fans sharing love and support in the comments section. The blogger started posting her tutorials in 2009, and won a Streamy award for Best Beauty Channel in 2014.
