A New Jersey police officer's body camera was rolling when a squirrel that invaded a resident's kitchen jumped through the air and shoved an officer backward.

The Brockport Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers Officers Sime and Dawson were called to a home Friday on a report of an invading squirrel "eating cookies in the kitchen" of the surprised residents' home.

Body camera footage included in the post shows the squirrel jumping through the air and bouncing off one of the officers, causing them to retreat.

The post said the officers "were not at all expecting the warm welcome they would receive from the squirrel."

The officers were eventually able to capture the squirrel and safely release it outside.
