Police in Florida responded to an unusual "hump day" call and ended up reuniting an escaped camel with its owner.

Miami-Dade Police tweeted photos showing the camel captured Wednesday -- "hump day" -- after being reported by surprised drivers in The Redlands.

User @AlexCanRide posted video to Instagram showing the two-humped Bactrian camel crossing a road before its capture.

Police said the camel was returned to its owner.

"What day is it? Today, we helped this camel reunite with its rightful owner. Yes, you read that right, #MDPD helped a camel on [hump] day! #HappyHumpDay," police tweeted.
