David Morrissey to star in BBC's 'The City and the City' adaptation

UPI News Service, 04/20/2017

David Morrissey has signed on to play Inspector Tyador Borlu in the BBC's four-part adaptation of China Mieville's novel "The City and the City."

The British actor, 52, is best known for his work on TV's "The Missing," "The Walking Dead" and "State of Play."

Tony Grisoni wrote the screenplay for his new thriller, which will co-star Mandeep Dhillon, Maria Schrader, Ron Cook, Danny Webb and Christian Camargo.

The miniseries will be filmed on location in Manchester and Liverpool, with Tom Shankland directing.

"I am delighted to be working with the brilliant Tony Grisoni again on this exciting project. I am a huge fan of the original book by China Mieville," Morrissey said in a statement.

"It's been fascinating and moving to witness the translation from fiction to script, and to work with Tony and Tom and everyone on this production. What they're making feels both familiar, sending me right back to the book, and yet very much their own, something I'm eager to discover. I'm extremely impatient for it!" Mieville added.
