The show will debut on Wednesdays this fall.

It "follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous missions," the network said in press notes.

Chris Chulack directed the pilot, which co-stars Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks and Jessica Pare.

"Thank you @CBS for the Seal order. I look forward to bringing the Team to all of you this fall," Boreanaz tweeted.

Boreanaz, 48, recently wrapped a 12-season run in the FOX series "Bones."

Before that he starred in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and its spinoff "Angel."
