The former NBA basketball star and Emma landed in the bottom two along with Tiger King star Carole Baskin and pro partner Pasha Pashkov based on the combination of judges' scores and home-viewer votes from the last two performance shows, including the live votes cast during Tuesday night's show.

Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli were able to vote to save one of the bottom-two couples from elimination.

Carrie Ann voted to save Carole and Pasha, Bruno voted to save Charles and Emma, and then Derek cast the tiebreaker vote and opted to keep Carole and Pasha in the competition for another week.

Prior to Charles and Emma's ouster, each celebrity and professional pairing performed one time -- and two couples won the night by topping the two-week leaderboard.

Season 11 The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe and pro partner Artem Chigvintsev tied for first place on the judges' two-week leaderboard with actress Justina Machado and pro partner Sasha Farber after both couples received a total of 42 out of 60 possible points.

Despite an ankle injury, Kaitlyn said she wanted to dance because competing on Dancing with the Stars is her dream and she'll dance through anything this season as long as she's cleared to do so.

Kaitlyn and Artem performed a 22-point worthy foxtrot on Tuesday night that Carrie Ann dubbed beautiful and elegant.

Carrie Ann said she couldn't even imagine what the routine looked like when Kaitlyn's ankle was fine. Derek added the dance was "graceful" and "effortless."

Justina and Sasha also danced a foxtrot that earned 21 out of 30 possible points from the judges.

Catfish creator and host Nev Schulman and pro partner Jenna Johnson finished in third place on the two-week judges' leaderboard with a total of 41 points after the pair took the stage with a cha cha that received 21 points from the judges.

Derek told Nev to keep his shoulders down, but Bruno complimented his "nimble footwork."

Fourth place on the two-week leaderboard went to actor Jesse Metcalfe and pro partner Sharna Burgess with 38 total points.

Jesse and Sharna performed a foxtrot routine that received 20 points from the judges.

"Mr. Dreamy does it again!" Bruno joked. "You've done it again, but you've got to watch your bum, your posture and your footwork." Carrie Ann, however, disagreed and thought it was smooth.

Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean and pro partner Cheryl Burke claimed fifth place on the judges' two-week leaderboard with 37 total points after they danced a foxtrot routine that received 19 points from the judges.

Carrie Ann called AJ's moves "smooth as silk" and Derek called him "such a showman." But Bruno noted AJ needed to glide more on the stage and his steps were a bit choppy.

Sixth place turned out to be a four-way tie for four celebrities and their pro partners who all earned a total of 36 points for their two dances on the two-week leaderboard.

The celebrities who tied at 36 points were Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson, figure skater and Olympic medalist Johnny Weir, TV and film actress Anne Heche, and The Real co-host and fashion correspondent Jeannie Mai.

Skai and pro partner Alan Bersten danced a samba on Tuesday night that received 15 points from the judges.

Commenting on a little mistake Shai made during the dance, Bruno said, "Things happen... but you'll be back next week for sure!"

And Derek added, "A setback set you up for a comeback."

Johnny and pro partner Britt Stewart performed a tango routine that racked in 18 points from the judges.

Derek asked Johnny to work on his frame and Bruno said his movements needed to be more "staccato-y."

Anne and pro partner Keo Motsepe took the stage with an 18-point worthy foxtrot routine.

Derek advised Anne to keep her energy in her legs and allow the upper-half of her body to just go along for the ride.

Jeannie and pro partner Brandon Armstrong danced a cha cha routine that received 18 points from the judges.

Carrie Ann said Jeannie is "wild" and needs to be tamed a bit, but Derek said he liked Jeannie's energy and charisma.

CHEER head coach Monica Aldama and pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy finished in tenth place on the judges' leaderboard with a two-week total of 35 points.

On Tuesday night, Monica and Val performed a jive that received 16 points from the judges.

Monica's cheerleading background helped her with the "fun and playful" jive, but her timing wasn't quite there and the judges wished more jive steps had been incorporated into the routine.

Former NFL football player Vernon Davis and pro partner Peta Murgatroyd placed eleventh with a two-week total score of 35 points.

The couple danced a paso doble that earned 18 points from the judges on Tuesday.

Vernon brought power to the ballroom and Bruno called him "a bull." Derek wanted a little more intensity in the performance and Carrie Ann said he was ahead of the music for half the dance but corrected it.

Twelfth place on the leaderboard went to rapper Nelly and pro partner Daniella Karagach with 34 total points.

Nelly and Daniella danced a cha cha routine that received 18 points from the judges.

Bruno complimented Nelly's timing and his natural and fantastic musicality, and Carrie Ann advised the rapper to drop his shoulders and work on his spotting in turns.

Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause and pro partner Gleb Savchenko finished in thirteenth place on the two-week leaderboard with a total of 31 points.

Chrishell and Gleb performed a rumba routine that received 18 points from the judges.

Chrishell was told she danced from her heart and showed a deep connection with Gleb. Carrie Ann noticed a little lift, but Derek liked seeing Chrishell's newfound confidence and passion.

Two couples tied for fourteenth place on the two-week leaderboard with a total of 27 points: Carole and Pasha as well as Charles and Emma.

Carole and Pasha performed the Viennese waltz and received 16 points from the judges.

Derek said this dance suited her and he was impressed. Bruno said her performance was "shining" and while it wasn't perfect, "there is hope" for her in the competition.

Charles and Emma danced the cha cha on Tuesday night and only earned 15 points for the routine. Charles was told his dancing was a huge improvement from last week and his timing was better, but Derek and Bruno agreed he needs to better his footwork.
