The 39-year-old abruptly left the daytime talk show during a commercial break, and later explained, "I left the show today b/c I didn't feel well, not because of the discussion. Saw the doctor - low blood sugar & tested positive for flu B."
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg and guest host Sunny Hostin were debating the lack of diversity at the Oscars when Bure appeared to point out she and co-host Joy Behar weren't being included in the discussion.
Bure walked off set during the next commercial break.
"Yesterday we were having a big conversation and Candace got ill and it turned out she had the flu," Goldberg said on Wednesday's episode.
"We were sitting here and she literally lost color and we thought she was going to pass out."
Bure was a frequent guest host before being named a permanent co-host in August.
She previously told People she doesn't take the show's notoriously heated debates to heart because she and the other co-hosts are friendly off-air.

"Things can get really heated on the show, and we can disagree about things on a fundamental level," she said.
"Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg do a great job of making sure we all know that nothing is to be taken personally ... I think it's really important for society to see that we can have healthy, meaningful debates and treat each other with respect and kindness."
