An accused burglar might have left a California home well fed and with clean clothes had the resident not come home unexpectedly.

Bakersfield police said Lacrellos Scott allegedly broke into Denise Bellessio's place this week and proceeded to throw his laundry in the wash and order a pizza to be delivered.

A puzzled Bellissio came home at about the same time the deliveryman arrived. She sent him away but was then accosted by the intruder who took her purse before she broke free and fled.

Scott was arrested in a nearby yard going through the purse, police allege. Inside Bellessio's home they found one of her checks that Scott had allegedly filled out in order to pay for the pizza.
