"American Idol" winner Nick Fradiani will perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the National Memorial Day Concert in Washington on May 24.

The 26th annual holiday broadcast will air live on PBS from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.

"I feel honored to be able to sing at the U.S. Capitol on the eve of Memorial Day," Fradiani said in a statement.

"It's an incredible opportunity to pay my deepest respects to our soldiers and military families for their service and sacrifice."

The entertainment program will be co-hosted for the 10th year by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna and Emmy Award-winner Gary Sinise.

Also expected to participate in the event are General Colin L. Powell, Gloria Estefan, Laurence Fishburne, Esai Morales, Tessanne Chin, Stefanie Scott, Jason Dolley, Laura Benanti, Katherine Jenkins, Russell Watson and the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of top pops conductor Jack Everly.
