Ashley, 31, and Jay, a 20-year-old from Jamaica, are apparently upset the news of their divorce filing surfaced before they could share or sell the news of their split in the time and manner of their own choosing.

"It is frustrating to both Ashley and Jay that this got leaked without them being the ones to get to share their story the way they wanted to," an insider told In Touch.

Ashley subsequently openly vented about the "leak" on Wednesday afternoon when she shared a link to the In Touch story and captioned a throwback photo of Jay and herself, "Who the f-ck is leaking all of this sh-t?"

Ashley also added a broken-heart emoji to her post.

Reports of Ashley and Jay's divorce began to swirl Wednesday morning when blogger John Yates posted a copy of the first page of Ashley's divorce filing on both Twitter and Instagram, although his Instagram post has since been deleted because John said he had been subjected to an overwhelming amount of negative comments.

The copy of Ashley's divorce filing showed she filed the paperwork in Cumberland County, PA.

Ironically, Ashley apparently filed for divorce on the same day her 90 Day Fiance co-star, Colt Johnson, filed for divorce from his wife, Larissa Christina Dos Santos Lima, following a violent fight in their Las Vegas home.

It has been a tough month for Ashley given she was hospitalized for kidney failure and lupus complications just two days after she filed the divorce paperwork. She remained in the hospital for almost a week.

However, Jay still visited Ashley in the hospital even though they appeared to have already separated just before Christmas.

In an Instagram posting, Jay said he would always love her and never allow his estranged wife to "sit alone and suffer" -- despite their issues.

"It should be noted also that even though they have moved forward towards a divorce, they have remained friends and are super close and on great terms," the insider told In Touch.

Ashley and Jay's marriage  -- which took place on May 16, 2018 -- fell apart when Ashley caught Jay flirting with women on Tinder only two days after their Las Vegas wedding.

Ashley took her time to decide whether she wanted to forgive Jay and give him a second chance or end their relationship -- and potentially send him back to Jamaica.

It now seems clear Ashley finally came to the conclusion all trust had been broken and she wouldn't be able to move forward with Jay as a married couple.
