90 Day Fiance couple Evelyn Cormier and David Vazquez have officially divorced their divorce after being married for nearly five years.

Evelyn filed for divorce from David in November 2021 after "prayerful consideration and counsel," and now a judge has signed off the legal paperwork, In Touch Weekly reported.

A judge reportedly finalized the former couple's divorce on April 22, 2022.

Evelyn and David had their case reviewed electronically since they are currently living on opposite coasts of the country, according to the magazine.

Evelyn, a 23-year-old singer and songwriter from Claremont, NH, who starred on 90 Day Fiance Season 5 with David, opened up about her decision to leave her estranged husband on Monday night's episode of TLC's 90 Day Diaries.

"David always wanted things to be his way and he was very controlling towards me, and I was silenced so often with my opinions and thoughts and feelings -- like they weren't valid," Evelyn claimed.

Evelyn went as far as to add, "There were days when I felt like I couldn't even get out of bed because I felt so hopeless for my future."

Evelyn felt like she could not divorce David under any circumstances due to her religion, but she explained how there are Biblical reasons that would allow a person to get divorced and there are some things that would make it acceptable.

"I knew immediately that I had made a really big mistake and I had to live with that," Evelyn told her family on Monday's episode.

"I married David when I was only 18. I think that I felt like, 18 is young but my parents did it. It worked out for them. I know that it's okay to have issues in your relationship but I was just blinded."

Her divorce was still processing at the time she filmed this spinoff, and Evelyn explained how she had cut off communication with David last summer and didn't talk to him again.

Evelyn was trying to get settled in New Hampshire post-divorce and figure out the next steps in her music career and in her life after leaving David.

"I have no plans of leaving New Hampshire. This is where I will live forever, hopefully," Evelyn told her loved ones.

When asked if she thought about dating again, Evelyn called it "a scary idea" because she noted how more healing needed to happen. She believed she would "find the right person" for her eventually.

Back in November 2021, Evelyn accused her estranged husband of "mental and emotional abuse" in their marriage.

"I've endured mental and emotional abuse because of a passionless, sexless and narcissistic relationship," Evelyn alleged to In Touch at the time.

"This is a good reminder that not everything you see on social media is reality."

Evelyn added, "This is a very difficult time for me and there is a long road of healing ahead, but I'm trusting God and the plan He has for me."

Meanwhile, David "completely" denied "those accusations" in a statement of his own.

However, David wouldn't get into detail when it comes to his side of the story.

"God knows the truth about all our marital problems," David said. "Out of respect to our marriage that lasted four years, I wish not to disclose any more details."

Evelyn and David noticeably deleted all photos of each other on their respective social-media accounts late last year.

Evelyn and David's marriage must have crumbled some time after February 2021, when Evelyn defended her marriage and addressed breakup rumors after she was spotted without her engagement ring on.

"It just gets annoying because, you know, people are constantly asking if we're still together or, you know, checking if I'm wearing my wedding ring or if I'm not wearing my wedding ring," Evelyn told People in February 2021.

"And it's like, you know, I do a lot of modeling on the side and I don't always wear my wedding ring, but that doesn't mean there's trouble in paradise. People like to read into everything."

Evelyn added at the time, "And I also think it's kind of a rude question to ask a married couple if they're still married. I'm not going up to married people and asking if you're still married."

And in March 2021, Evelyn asked for prayers on David's behalf following an accident.

"Please be praying for @davazer today. This morning he was struck by a car while riding his bike to work," Evelyn captioned a selfie of the pair in the hospital wearing face masks.

Evelyn and David most recently appeared, together, on 90 Day Fiance: Love Games, which streams on Discovery's new discovery+ service.

Evelyn's 90 Day Fiance journey started when she was 18 years old and met David Vazquez, who was a 27-year-old from Granada, Spain, on social media. They started talking when David slid into her DMs on Instagram.

The pair developed a friendship that turned romantic, and even though they came from different worlds, they shared the same Christian values -- including not having sex before marriage.

Evelyn visited David and his family in Spain, where David proposed, and then Evelyn returned to New Hampshire and began the K-1 visa process.

Once the visa was approved, David moved to New Hampshire, but David dreamed of living in a bigger city and not such a "rural" area.

During their 90 days together, Evelyn and David had their fair share of disagreements but Evelyn thought he was the love of her life. The couple therefore got married in October 2017 and then lived in New Hampshire together for two years.

But then Evelyn wanted to explore becoming a professional musician, and she made it as a finalist on the 2019 season of ABC's American Idol, the show's seventeenth edition. (Evelyn was eliminated when the Top 14 finalists were narrowed down to the competition's Top 10).

After her appearance on the show, more opportunities opened up to further her music career in Los Angeles, and so she and David moved there. Evelyn announced their move in October 2019.

"But I really didn't like living in L.A. David couldn't understand why I missed my home so much, and that caused a lot of friction for us," Evelyn explained on 90 Day Diaries.

Evelyn said her church was supportive and so she returned home to New Hampshire and filed for divorce from David.
