S3's Kim Powers In Negotiations With Playboy

TVGuide.com is reporting that it looks like 'Survivor: Africa' castoff Kim Powers will follow in vixen Jerri Manthey's footsteps as a Playboy cover girl.

A rep for the men's mag confirms Powers is now "negotiating" to bare all for a pictorial layout.

"Oh, I would definitely consider doing it," the petite (and currently unemployed) Pennsylvania marketing exec told TV Guide Online. "I don't think [my family] would be jumping for joy if I said, 'Guess what? I want to pose for Playboy!' But I think it's usually tasteful � not that I read it. Ultimately, it's my decision on whether or not I'd want to do something like that."

Now that "Survivor: Africa" is drawing to a close, the reality-based show is finally starting to get a boost in ratings. The series finally managed to reach numbers matching last season's "Survivor: The Australian Outback." Casinos Place Odds on 'Survivor 3'

LAS VEGAS Las Vegas oddsmakers are all over the board as they rank who they think will outlast the other contestants on "Survivor: Africa."

The third installment of the CBS reality show, which features 16 strangers competing against each other in Kenya's Shaba National Reserve, debuts at 8 p.m. EDT Thursday.

Race and sports books managers at the Stardust, the Sahara and Bally's and Paris hotel-casinos have formulated odds on the survivability of each contestant after studying their biographies on CBS' Web site.

Stardust oddsmaker Joe Lupo has picked Ethan Zohn, a 27-year-old professional soccer player, as the favorite to win the $1 million top prize at 4-1 odds.

Surviiivor.com reports that The Early Show will announce the new cast of Survivor 3 on Tuesday, September 25, 2001 (barring any breaking news, of course). According to their message board, this announcement originated from CBS Spokesman Chris Ender.
