Sarah Mather (born c. 1983) is an American country singer. She was also a semi-finalist in the fourth season of American Idol from Wilmington, North Carolina.

Biography

Mather was born around 1983 in Montreal, Canada, and started singing when she was only five years old. She began singing in ensembles and bands just two years later.

She auditioned for the fourth season of American Idol in Washington D.C. in 2004, making it to the semi-finals. She sang "Get Ready" by The Temptations on February 23, 2006, but was eliminated that day. She placed 24th. Because she seemed upset during the results show at the way she was informed, she had difficulty with her farewell performance.

Only a day after being voted off the show, Mather moved to New York City to pursue a musical career. In 2006, she released an EP, Another Day. It includes the songs Another Day, Fly, Can't Stop The Rain, My Song, This Thing Called Love. A full-length album will be released later in the year.

In 2006, she starred as "Jane Bryan", in the music video for "The Diary of Jane" by the Pennsylvania-rock band, Breaking Benjamin.
