• 'Survivor All-Stars' contestants record video pitches for $1 million audience prize

  
  As promised by Survivor host Jeff Probst on the live reunion show, each of the 18 participants in Survivor: All-Stars has recorded a video giving reasons why he or she should be awarded the $1 million prize that goes to the viewers' choice of the survivor who was deemed most worthy of the money. Not surprisingly, the pitches for the money ranged from charitable to desperate.

  Apparently Survivor itself wouldn't survive if future contestants learned information that is already widely known on the Internet. At least, that seems to be CBS's view, after pressure from CBS lawyers led to the termination of a newspaper column being written by a former Survivor castaway.

  In the U.S., CBS's Big Brother series occupies a lower tier among the reality-TV offerings, substantially below CBS's continuing smash Survivor. However, there are ways to spice the series up, as the South Africans are currently demonstrating.

  Ah wow... there's Debb, apparently continuing the Survivor tradition of doing fine folks of New Hampshire proud... First there was Jenna, the unmarried teenage single mother of twins, now this. Hey, I guess the state slogan isn't "live free or die" for nothing...

• New Hampshire's Debb Eaton Confirms She Is A Contestant

  
  Debb Eaton of Milan, NH, a corrections officer at the state prison in Berlin, NH, confirmed this week that she is one of the 16 contestants who will compete against each other in the Australian Outback.

  Eaton, 45, who was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Wisconsin, moved to New Hampshire in 1973 and lived in the Derry area. She and her fiance, Robert, whose last name also is Eaton, have lived in Milan for about three months. Robert is also a corrections officer at the prison. Her first husband was a state trooper who died three years ago. She has one son, who is a Marine sergeant.

  A local acquaintance described Eaton to the Berlin Daily Sun as "a real determined girl" who is bright, positive, physically fit and has an outgoing personality.
