Charles Koppelman Biography (Courtesy Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Charles Koppelman (born March 30, 1940, in The Bronx, New York City, New York) is the chairman of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, and was Martha Stewart's right-hand man on NBC's The Apprentice: Martha Stewart (fall 2005). Koppelman had previously been CEO of EMI Music. Prior to that he headed a music publishing and production company known as The Entertainment Company. (Among his writers at TEC was a young Gary Portnoy who went on to co-write and sing The Theme From Cheers (Where Everybody Knows Your Name). On The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, he held an unlit cigar, because a few years prior to the show he had given up smoking cigars but still enjoyed chewing them (he liked the tobacco taste). Now, however, Koppelman no longer smokes nor chews cigars.

He was a member of the musical group The Ivy Three which had a novelty hit in 1960 titled "Yogi."

His daughter, Jennifer Koppelman Hutt, hosts a Sirius Satellite Radio show called Whatever with Alexis and Jennifer alongside Alexis Stewart (Martha's daughter).

His son is the screenwriter Brian Koppelman, whose credits include Rounders, Knockaround Guys, Runaway Jury, and the television series Tilt.
