Sera Gamble Biography

Sera Gamble is an American television writer and producer, best known for her work on The CW series Supernatural.

Early career

Sera Gamble graduated from the U.C.L.A. school of drama and film. Before turning to film and television, Gamble starred in stage productions of Will Strip for Food in Los Angeles and Dublin, Ireland. She produced and starred in Eve of Paradise, written and directed by Raelle Tucker. She also starred in a short film, written by Gamble and directed by Tucker, entitled the Clay Man. Gamble's current career in Hollywood began when she appeared as a finalist on the second season of Project Greenlight in 2003. She was hired as a writer and story editor on Supernatural two years later and was also a writer on the short-lived ABC series Eyes. She was also the co-writer of the blog Very Hot Jews.

Sera is Jewish, and co-blogs "Very Hot Jews" with Simon Glickman.

Work on Supernatural

Sera Gamble has worked on Supernatural since its first season and has contributed over twenty scripts for the series. At the end of the fifth season, creator Eric Kripke stepped down as head writer of the series and Gamble was chosen as his successor. She served as executive producer and showrunner beginning with the sixth season, and ending with the end of the seventh season. Gamble chose to step down from her post as showrunner and executive producer on Supernatural at the end of the seventh season in order to "focus on developing other material" for The CW television network. She was replaced by Being Human executive producer Jeremy Carver, who served on Supernatural from seasons 3 to 5.
