Marilyn Van Derbur Biography

Marilyn Van Derbur (born June 6, 1937) is the 1958 Miss America pageant holder.

Van Derbur from Denver, Colorado, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Colorado. As a result of a history of sexual abuse by her father, she founded the American Coalition for Abuse Awareness and One Voice and authored "Miss America By Day: Lessons Learned from Ultimate Betrayals and Unconditional Love".

One of Van Derbur's fellow contestants was the 1957 Miss Arizona, the actress Lynn Borden.
